Huskers
The shortened name for the university’s athletic mascot; short for Cornhuskers. Note that it does not contain an apostrophe (because Corn has been dropped).
Both men’s and women’s sports teams use this mascot; never use Lady Huskers or Women Huskers.
"Husker" or "Huskers" are acceptable modifiers and nouns for people, units, departments and colleges at the university.
An interdisciplinary team of Huskers has found a way to shut off a weakened HIV cell.
Husker students will get the day off Feb. 17 because of a snow day.
HuskerVision
Video production center for athletics. Also refers to video display boards in Memorial Stadium and Devaney Sports Center. The screens are not Jumbotrons, which is a proprietary name for screens produced by Sony.
