Healthy Kids, Healthy Future continues the work of Let’s Move! Child Care. Healthy Kids, Healthy Future offers childhood obesity prevention resources and tools to assist child care and preschool providers in helping children get a healthy start to life. Best practices are outlined in five healthy goal areas: nurturing healthy eaters, providing healthy beverages, increasing physical activity, limiting screen time and supporting breastfeeding.

The California Department of Public Health’s Nutrition Education and Obesity Prevention Branch (NEOPB) offers a variety of resources and toolkits to assist child care providers meet age-level physical activity recommendations through a toolkit full of great resources (example schedules, activitiy ideas) as well as a resource on how to design playgrounds for movement.

SHAPE America wants to help build a future where all children are prepared to lead healthy, physically active lives. Their website offers a variety of activity ideas for infants, toddlers, and pre-school age children. Most ideas are available in Spanish.
