History & Purpose

The University of Nebraska University Libraries is the home of the AQSG library. Since 1998 the American Quilt Study Group library collection has been cataloged, housed and preserved by the University Libraries at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. The purpose of the American Quilt Study Group (AQSG) is to promote and preserve research on quilts, quiltmaking, and quiltmakers. The collection complements research and study activities of the International Quilt Study Center on the University Campus and supports AQSG membership throughout the world.

The Collection

The AQSG library collection is composed of monographs, journal volumes, exhibition catalogs, and ephemeral items.

  • The majority of the AQSC Collection is available at C.Y. Thompson Library (CYT) on East Campus.
  • The Sally Garroutte collection, quilt exhibits, catalogs and rare items are located in Archives & Special Collections at Love Library.

Donations

The University Libraries welcomes donations of quilt related materials to the AQSG collection.
