The North Central Extension Risk Management Education Center (NCERMEC) implements and coordinates the Extension Risk Management Education (ERME) program. Please explore the various funding opportunities presented on this page:
Extension Risk Management Education (ERME) is delivered through four regional centers that provide grant funding and leadership within their regions. The mission of the national program is educating America’s farmers and ranchers to manage the unique risks of producing food for the world’s table. The North Central Extension Risk Management Education Center is one of the four Centers and serves the North Central Region.
The North Central Extension Risk Management Education Center recently awarded over $1.4 million in funding to 24 project directors from universities and non-profit organizations across the north central region. Award Period: April 1, 2022 – September 30, 2023. Congratulations to the new 2022 Projects!
Beyond the annual funding opportunity provided through the Extension Risk Management Education (ERME) program and the North Central ERME Center, the Center also keeps stakeholders informed of other funding opportunities to help serve America’s farmers and ranchers in addressing risk management on their operations. From time to time, these opportunities become available to fund educational programming for risk management education. We will post links to these programs as we are notified.
The ERME Competitive Grants Program releases a Request for Applications (RFA) annually. Successful risk management education projects must address at least one of the following primary sources of agricultural risk: Production, Marketing, Financial, Legal and Human.
