When the University Health Center is closed on nights and weekends, you have options.

Medical Emergencies

Call 911, call the UNL Police Department at 402-472-2222 or go to a nearby emergency room. The closest emergency room to campus is:

Symptomatic COVID-19 Testing

If you have symptoms and need COVID-19 testing when the University Health Center is closed, you have off-campus options:

  • Pharmacy: Certain local pharmacies offer testing services by appointment
  • Bryan Health*: Bryan has several clinics throughout Lincoln that may offer COVID-19 testing
  • Urgent Care Clinic of Lincoln*: Call ahead; Sunday testing may be available

Urgent Medical Concerns

Students can call 402-472-5000 after hours and follow the prompts to speak to a Nebraska Medicine nurse on call. The nurse can provide advice about self-care and deciding where and when to go for health care if needed. The nurse cannot make or cancel appointments, provide prescription refills or give tests results.

If you need immediate care for an urgent health concern, seek a nearby urgent care center. The closest urgent care center to campus is:

If you don’t have transportation, consider a local taxi or ride-sharing service. The health center does not provide transportation to after-hours medical facilities.
