SNR GSA Seminar Coordinators

GSA is responsible for inviting one each of near and far speakers for the SNR Fall Seminar Series. These nominations will come from GSA Coordinators! The SNR Seminar Committee coordinates speaker invitations and provides funding for the speakers, lunches, and refreshments.

This is a great opportunity for graduate students. The students will network with scientists in their field, make contacts for potential job or research opportunities, offer insights to other SNR personnel on various research topics, as well as have an item to build their resume. The GSA Coordinators will receive a small stipend and be responsible for:

1. Suggesting two-three “near” speakers (or be the near speakers) for the Seminar Committee to invite

2. Suggesting two-three “far” speakers for the Seminar Committee to invite

3. Coordinating refreshments for each seminar (ordering, setup, cleanup)

4. Organizing lunch meetings for students to meet with presenters

If you are interested in this position, contact snrgsa@unl.edu. We will solicit applications in April for the following fall. One or two individuals will be selected by the previous year's graduate student coordinator(s).
