Another week has flown by! I think the most memorable part has been learning how to use my camera for action shots. One of the most interesting things I learned on the trip was "panning." By moving the camera along with a moving subject, combined with a slow shutter speed, I was able to keep the subject in focus but make the background appear blurry. It really looks like everything is in motion.

We've also been shooting many sporting events. The first was a skate park, then a BMX competition, and a horse race today. The horses moved quickly and gracefully around the racing track, but our camera lenses were even faster, allowing everyone to get some really neat shots. It has been very interesting making the camera work for what ever type of shot we've had to deal with, whether it is fast moving, slow, morning, or night. I am confident in using the camera from what I've learned so far that I would be able to tailor my camera's settings to most new situations.

Shooting action shots has been a new experience, but one I learned here with great enthusiasm. As our subjects have been moving quickly, so have the days of the trip. I look forward to learning as much as possible in the last week of our experience here, as we depart for Barcelona, Spain tomorrow!
