Does China Interest You?

April 15 deadline!

Would you like to study for a semester in China? UNL is developing an exchange program for the coming fall semester in which four of our CoJMC students will take classes in the journalism school at Tsinghua University in Beijing. The university, known as the MIT of China, includes among its graduates a Nobel Prize winner, a leader in the country's national bank and the current president of China.

Our students could take classes, in English, in such topics as the theory and practice of public diplomacy, global business journalism, opinion and news commentary, intercultural communication and hot topics in the global economy, as well as more craft-oriented classes, such as a workshop on film and TV production. Programs are also being offered in corporate communication and public relations. CoJMC associate professor Joe Weber will teach a class in newswriting and a class in multi-media journalism, which our students would be welcome to take.

Students should expect to pay their normal UNL costs for the fall semester, plus airfare. The credits they earn at Tsinghua would be adjusted to suit our requirements here. Cost and credit details are still being hammered out.

If you are interested, please drop a note explaining your interest and saying a bit about yourself, as well as a resume to Joe Weber at by April 15.
