Create the New Logo for NE State Fair

Advertising professor Stacy James' Advertising and Public Relations
Campaigns class is working with UNL advertising graduate Chelsey Jungck
and other officials at the Nebraska State Fair to help plan and
implement a new advertising and public relations campaign for the new
2010 Nebraska State Fair in Grand Island. In spring 2008, Nebraska
Governor Dave Heineman signed the bill that would move the Nebraska
State Fair from Lincoln to Grand Island. The purpose of the 140 year old
Nebraska State Fair is to educate and entertain, recognize individual
achievements, celebrate excellences in agriculture, industry, commerce,
arts, sciences and technology, and reinforce a sense of community and
shared culture for the citizens of Nebraska.

"What a great opportunity and experience this will be for our students
and the Nebraska State Fair. After all, the fair is one of those
memories you remember from your childhood and beyond. It's a
one-of-a-kind event in our state and we're thrilled to be a part of the
new fair and its new home in Grand Island," James said. Anyone wanting
more information can go to the fair Web site at www.statefair.org.

As one of the first creative projects, fair officials are sponsoring a
Nebraska State Fair new logo design competition. Students from UNL, UNK
and UNO are encouraged to submit their design ideas. The winning
designer will receive $2,000 and the new design will be announced
February 25, 2010. Download the call for entries pdf file for further
