Tob Bloomberg News Executive visits the CoJMC

Tom Contiliano, a top executive with Bloomberg News, will visit the J school on Tuesday, Nov. 2. Bloomberg is a global outfit with more than 2,000 reporters in 146 bureaus around the world.

Mr. Contiliano will speak about Bloomberg and one of the top topics in general and business journalism — how to follow the money. He will also talk about how to find useful information in financial statements to avoid being misled.

He will meet one-on-one with students interested in interning with Bloomberg for the winter or summer sessions. Bloomberg offers 12-week internships that commonly lead to jobs in spots such as NYC and Chicago, or elsewhere around the world.

Mr. Contiliano is a CPA and reports to the editor-in-chief at Bloomberg on financial and operational matters for Bloomberg News. He appears regularly on Bloomberg Television and serves as a daily resource on financial reporting matters worldwide. Prior to joining Bloomberg in 1999, he worked for Coopers & Lybrand, and its successor PricewaterhouseCoopers, in the firm's forensic accounting and audit practices. He holds bachelors and masters degrees from the University of Virginia, where he has also taught accounting for one year at the McIntire School of Commerce.
