Internships

32 news-editorial students have summer internships

Almost three dozen news-editorial students landed paid summer internships from newspapers, magazines and Web sites to politicians’ offices and power districts to insurance and public relations firms.

All employers who came to Avery Hall for summer help had one thing in common: They wanted the reporting, editing or photo skills that the college’s news-editorial students have consistently delivered during the past decades.

“Our students deserve a lot of credit,” Dick Thien, department placement director, said. “They put together strong resumes and clips for those who come to Avery to recruit.

“And they sent strong packets out to editors across the country as they pursued internships. It paid off, just as it has year after year after year.”
