What a deal!

Advertising class helps increase state’s tourism

The Nebraska Division of Travel and Tourism got lots of advice on how to increase international tourism in the state when students in the advertising campaigns class made their final presentations April 27.

Each semester two teams of advertising majors put all their skills to work in this culminating course, designing an integrated marketing plan for a real-world client. This spring’s teams were the first to make their presentations in a newly-remodeled classroom designed especially for that purpose.

Nancy Mitchell taught the course this spring.

“It is designed to teach students to think critically and strategically and solve problems creatively,” Mitchell said.
