Another private sector organization seeking to enable connectivity on the farm is RealmFive, a growing startup company based in Lincoln, NE. Austin Benes, Key Account Executive at RealmFive, joins this episode of the FarmBits podcast to discuss how RealmFive is participating in the fifth disruption in agriculture focused on data-driven decisions and automation. RealmFive provides a platform capable of connecting diverse end devices such as soil moisture sensors, pivot tower monitors, and device operational status measuring devices to the internet via internet gateways. As Austin discusses, RealmFive views the current state of limited rural broadband connectivity as an inspiration for innovation which has led to the development of their particular solutions. Critically, RealmFive focuses on transferring data that is "pertinent and actionable" which helps to streamline their data transfer processes and overcome some limitations of rural connectivity. The future of agriculture is increasingly connected and automated. The technologies and principals discussed in this episode and that RealmFive is focusing on are crucial to enabling that future.
