Biologicals have recently emerged as a potentially revolutionary solution for complex problems in agriculture, such as nitrogen management. David Brown, Director of Engineering at Pivot Bio, joins this episode of the FarmBits podcast to discuss how Pivot Bio is evaluating their products using digital technology. David came to Pivot Bio because of his desire to improve the sustainability of agriculture which he believes biologicals will help to do. In this episode, we cover the basics of Pivot Bio's PROVEN product, the challenges with implementing and evaluating the efficacy of biological products, and how progress in evaluative technologies may occur in the near future. While PROVEN is not necessarily a product geared toward improving planting, it is a product that is applied in furrow at planting and farmers who are thinking about implementing biologicals need to consider how those application logistics will fit in their planting operations.
