The ghost of EMA

This project embarked on an imaginative exploration titled "The Ghost of Emerging Media Arts," where the realms of augmented and extended reality converge to create a virtual tour of the Carson Center. This AR project guides participants through the center with a narrative provided by the spectral presences of past students. These spirits recount their experiences at the Carson Center during a catastrophic earthquake that led to their untimely demise, with the center's floor crumbling beneath them.

Trapped in perpetual limbo, these characters narrate their tales exclusively through the interface of an iPad, offering visitors a poignant blend of history and tragedy encapsulated within the modernity of digital media. This tour not only enriches viewers with the historical context of the Carson Center but also immerses them in the chilling aftermath of a disaster, all while showcasing the power of emerging media arts to resurrect stories and preserve memories. The project uniquely binds the technological with the supernatural, inviting viewers to experience a haunting educational journey through the lens of advanced digital storytelling.

If you are currently at the Carson Center, please download the Adobe Aero app and scan the QR code on the poster below to see the experience
