Administrative Coordinator

The Administrative Coordinator will serve as the liaison to the college administrative unit and university functional offices. The primary responsibilities will be to provide wide-ranging service to the faculty and students of the department. This position will be expected to provide solutions to complex problems, answer a variety of questions, coordinate and execute department events, and manage space. Position will be responsible for coordinating the hiring of student workers for the college.This position also serves the Nebraska Transportation Center (NTC) and is expected to work with NTC staff in coordinating events (e.g., seminars, webinars, conferences, workshops, career fairs, and educational outreach activities) at both Lincoln and Omaha campuses under the direction of the NTC Director.

Research Assistant Professor

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering invites applications for a Research Assistant Professor in Transportation Engineering who will be closely affiliated with the Nebraska Transportation Center (NTC), a College of Engineering research entity. This position is a non-tenure track, 12-month appointment. Successful applicants will have the requisite experience in NTC’s core research areas (https://unlcms.unl.edu/engineering/nebraska-transportation-center/research-areas.php) and a demonstrable research capability that will enable them to develop proposals and secure funding in these areas. The successful candidate should be prepared to collaborate with colleagues, develop new research initiatives, and participate in ongoing research projects.

Assistant Director of Business Operations

As a leader within the Business division of MwRSF, the function and responsibilities of this position are to advise and assist the MwRSF Director on business and program-related activities to maintain high productivity and improve the efficiency of operations within the facility. Complete rate studies, as needed, to update MwRSF Service Center charge rates and work with appropriate offices to update approved charge rates. Liaison between other University departments and offices, State and Federal agencies as well as private corporations and business. Serve as a point of contact to MwRSF for prospective research sponsors. Advise, assist, prepare, coordinate and monitor final preparation, submission and awarded research proposals. Plan, organize and coordinate conferences and workshops. Manage and maintain department operational and financial activities. Coordinate and complete all business-related activities within MwRSF including record maintenance and retention. Prepare special reports concerning MwRSF activities, supervise administrative staff, monitor and prepare reports for awarded research proposals. Position will be responsible for strategic decision-making, center improvement, and growth. Maintain and complete HR records and activities; new hire paperwork, onboarding, offboarding, payroll entries, unanet timesheet and project time distribution, etc.
