Carrie C. Heitman is Assistant Professor of Anthropology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and Co-Principal Investigator for the Chaco Research Archive (CRA). The CRA is funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, with additional support from the National Science Foundation, the National Park Service, the Institute for Advanced Technology in the Humanities, and the University of Virginia. Carrie specializes in the archaeology and ethnohistory of the American Southwest as well as database architecture, digital asset management, data analysis, and information/content management. Her publications include articles on religion/ritual, architecture, kinship, gender and social inequality, methods of data integration and the application of relational databases in anthropology. Carrie holds a PhD in anthropology from the University of Virginia. Before working at the University of Nebraska, she was an American Council of Learned Societies New Faculty Fellow in the Department of Anthropology at Northwestern University.
