Ending Homelessness Planning and Development

In 2010, the United States Interagency Council on Homelessness published the first Federal Strategic Plan to Prevent and End Homelessness, creating a shared vision for communities where systems are in place to ensure that homelessness is brief, rare, and non-recurring.

Members of the UNL Center on Children, Families, and the Law Community Services team provide planning, development, and evaluation of the homeless services systems, policies, and practices in the Nebraska Balance of State Continuum of Care and the Lincoln Continuum of Care (under Homelessness). Their work identifies gaps in homeless services and potential approaches or resources to assist organizations who serve people experiencing homelessness. They also provide guidance and training to ensure the Continuums of Care are compliant with state and federal regulations governing their homeless services funding. The overarching goal is to help Nebraska reach functional zero in our efforts to end homelessness.
