Bios 422/822, BIOS 422L/822L, ACE 10
NOTE: Comparative Physiology, BIOS 422/822, is a 3 credit course. We add 422L/822L (1 credit) to make it 4 credits total; you will need to enroll in both.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Mandy Lipinski

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
In this field and laboratory course, we will consider Comparative Physiology through ecological and evolutionary perspectives by examining how environmental conditions challenge animals. We will examine the physiological, morphological, and behavioral adaptations that drive responses to challenges as well as the associated trade-offs that arise from necessary responses to environmental conditions. Topics for study will include adaptation and variation in thermoregulation, osmoregulation, movement, vision, internal & external environmental perception and regulation, hormones, and more.
