We seek highly motivated individuals to join a team focused on understanding the central metabolism and biochemistry of methane-producing archaea. The Buan Laboratory pursues an array of projects spanning renewable bioenergy production, synthetic biology, systems biology, and biophysical biochemistry topics. The successful candidate will have access to state-of-the art facilities at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, including but not limited to: the Redox Biology Center (protein crystallography, proteomics and metabolomics, biophysics core instrumentation), Bioprocess Development Facility (fermentation at commercial scale), Center for Biotechnology (microscopy and mass spectrometry), and the Holland Computing Center. A BS, MS, or PhD degree in biology, biochemistry, microbiology or a related field is required in addition to a passion for learning new techniques.
